Policies

1: Tack-Ons

Tack-ons are not guaranteed outside our coverage area and will be quoted case-by-case. Within our coverage area:

  • Found shoes: replaced at no charge
  • Lost shoes: $25 plus any applicable add-ons

Horses that repeatedly pull shoes may incur additional charges for requested tack-ons when conditions are outside our control (e.g., no bell boots, deep mud, fence pawing).

2. Overgrowth

Overgrowth charges may apply when feet require additional work due to extended time between trims or other conditions beyond normal maintenance.

  • Moderate to severe overgrowth: $15.00/horse
  • Extreme cases (e.g., curling or “ski” hooves) are quoted case-by-case.

3. Handling, Catching & Holding

It is the responsibility of the owner or handler to ensure that horses are caught, haltered, and held (or cross-tied) for appointments, and able to stand safely.

  •  Farrier assistance with handling, catching, or holding may be available by prior arrangement, with an additional service cost starting at $10 per horse.

We reserve the right to refuse service for any horse deemed unsafe or unmanageable.

4. Cancellations

Emergencies are understood. Last-minute cancellations, no-shows, or scheduling conflicts that compromise the horse’s care may result in removal from the schedule.
